Don’t you just love sitting back with a hot cup of coffee and good conversation? Everyone should start the day this way. Once I get that first cup, uh uh uh, we can talk about anything. No subject is off limits, as long as it’s done in the most respectful way. That’s the way I do it.
Hello from the road! It’s the Vagabond Lady and I have arrived in Gautier MS and am sorely in need of a libation of the coffee persuasion. I’m still in my jammies but, who cares! GPS. Do not fail me. Thank you. There is a coffee shop in this town and it goes by the name of Delo’s Heavenly House of Coffee. Located right off the interstate at 3880 Gautier (pronounced Go-Shay) -Vancleave Rd in Gautier MS.
My Goodness gracious! It’s got that laid back, Seattle coffee house feel, which is good. I like that. So let’s get to know Delo’s.
I am greeted at the door with a good morning from the tiny lady from behind the counter. That would be Miss Delo. Even with the crowd waiting for their morning cup of Joe, customer service is alive and well and living at Delo’s! “Hello and what are we having today”? There are lots of choices. Hot, cold or frozen? What size? What flavor? How many shots? With so many decisions one has to make daily, it’s nice to make a simple one. A medium- white chocolate mocha with soy frappuccino, s'il vous plait? That was easy. While Delo makes my coffee, I notice all of her own Specialty Espressos; Why Bother (you got that right), Alice In Wonderland (been down that rabbit hole, not today), French Kiss (oolala)! And what have we here, pretty home-made pastries in the cooler, dare I? Hmm! Teas, Smoothies lots of yummies to choose from.
Sitting at the window I take in the splashes of local color all around the place. T-shirts for the Baywood Commons Bike Rides, Pewter jewelry from Tina’s. She's a MS jewelry designer. There's also honey from local honey grower Mr Benke. That honey is so gold and pretty in that mason jar.
This coffee shop is like a little community center. If you want to get the word out on a new business in the area, provide a service, need service, have a job opening, need a job. If you are having a church social or a fund raiser, they are talking about it at Delo’s. Planning an event and you need to create a little BUZZZZ, they are plotting and planning, strategizing and creating at Delo’s. Come on over, but watch out! You will get caught up listening to the customers here and the next thing you know, you are in the conversation. When I hit any city, I head downtown. I love a good downtown. I asked Delo,” How do I get to the downtown area?” "You’re standing in it.” She laughed, setting my coffee on the table. I over heard a tidbit of information that I’ll share with you, nothing personal, just a little good community information. I don’t get into people’s personal, personals but everyone should know what’s going on in their community. Ya’ll feel free to share with me too. If you hear of anything everyone should know about, let’s get that information out to the masses here in Gautier.
Okay anyway. So now I hear that Gautier is planning something big in the way of a new Mall. Have you been to the Mall? If not, you haven’t missed much. Gautier ‘s Mall is sorely in need of a renovation. I hope it’s something with an open floor plan. Something with a fountain would be nice. I like fountainsJ

You better get down to Delo’s and maybe I’ll see you there I don’t know how long I’ll be in town but for right now, I’m kind of liking Miss Delo’s Heavenly House of Coffee!
